"Is media playing fair in campaign coverage?"
Mon Jul 21, 2008 at 07:18:03 AM PDT
Naturally, I clicked on the Yahoo! link to see who was finally calling out Our Media Stars on how they're in the tank for McCain.
My heart sank. It's from the AP. (Their TV writer, David Bauder, specifically.)
Good thing McCain's so reluctant to talk about being a POW ...

Gates: Capitulation not enough
Fri Dec 21, 2007 at 10:12:30 AM PDT
Consider this Part II of yesterday's diary, in which President Fucko McDickhead complained that Congress wasn't capitulating to him fast enough.
Today, SecDef Gates gets in on the act.
Harry? Nancy? Still waiting for that pat on the head?

Gosh, you capitulate on Iraq funding twice in a year, do your damndest to roll over on illegal wiretapping and retroactive immunity for lawbreaking corporations, but it's all going to be worth it when Mr. 24% gets up there at the end of the year and thanks you all for the spirit of bipartisanship that made it possible for his party's agenda to advance and yours, um, not.
Right?

Thanks to Crooks and Liars for the video from WMUR.

I'd love to be wrong, but why am I supposed to believe that the Congress that couldn't uphold the Fourth Amendment will turn down Bush's choice for Attorney General?
Here's how it'll go down:

Glenn Greenwald's latest typically excellent post lays it bare once again - that being a Republican is no longer anything more than being and/or admiring big, tough, manly MEN.
But there's a tragic root cause he's overlooking.

Sorry if I'm late, but of all the inanity about the Fort Dix Six, I thought this summed it up best.
More reasons this war is stupid (like we need 'em)

So thanks to James Wolcott's blog, I found this piece on Antiwar.com. It's of course worth reading in its entirety, but there's one point in there that I don't think gets made enough.
They want his AUTOGRAPH?

(They've updated the site to take out the text about the event itself, and instead it's all about whether they should've reported it, which I find suspicious. But the video still works.)
